configuring compiz effects in Ubuntu

By default Ubuntu leaves out the compiz settings manager. This utility allows allows you to tweak all the settings avaiable in compiz.

use apt-get on the command line or start menu - add/remove programs

sudo apt-get install compizconfig-settings-manager

or search for it in the package manager and install it from there.

or just get it here: http://packages.ubuntu.com/jaunty/compizconfig-settings-manager

you can just execute a .deb package in ubuntu. It's similar to .msi in windows only in ubuntu/Debian almost all software is available this way.
That’s it.

I noticed the printscreen key not working after my ubuntu jaunty 9.04 upgrade.
Disabling printscreen plugin in compiz settings manager fixed it.

go to menu
settings
compiz config settings manager
disable screenshot in the extra's section
OR (faster)
start a shell (or f12 if you have yakuake)
ccsm
disable screenshot in the extra's section
