Contains utilities needed when running Linux on toshiba laptops

Welcome to the Toshiba Linux Utilities pages. The purpose of these pages is to act as reference point for my small series of programs to control the more Toshiba specific aspects of their laptops. In particular they allow many of the settings controlled by either Toshiba's MaxTime or Power Saver utilities to be changed under Linux. The code is licensed under the GNU Public licence (GPL).

installation of linux on the toshiba satellite l300

http://www.doc.ic.ac.uk

Installation of ubuntu linux 8.04 on the toshiba l300 a howto:

update:

ubuntu linux 8.10 seems to have better support for this laptop, and it is also possible to get the wireless working.
read this:
http://www.doc.ic.ac.uk/~pgp/personal/logs/r8198-wifi.html

update:

The Toshiba Sattelite has been reported as running Suse Linux 10.3 without any major problems.

Much more stable than other distros on my Toshiba Satellite L300D-01N. Slower Package Management than Ubuntu but it works great and all programs run/load quickly.

Linux Canon PowerShot A40

http://www.edginet.org

There should be something useful here for users of other GNU/Linux distributions, but for this installation I am using Debian Woody on my Toshiba Portégé 3110CT laptop.
